Editorial Policy
This policy explains how Renter Wall Notes decides what to publish and what we will not claim.
Source hierarchy
When sources disagree, we rely on them in this order:
- The manufacturer's current official product page, instructions and terms.
- Retailer and programme documentation for the specific product or offer.
- General, widely accepted home-improvement practice for the technique described.
- Our own reasoning, which we label as reasoning and not as fact.
We do not use customer review text or customer photos as evidence, and we do not copy advertiser photos or logos.
No fabricated testing
We do not say that we bought, installed, wore out or removed a product unless that happened and is described accurately. At present our guides are research and guidance only. We do not publish star ratings, review counts, durability results or claims that a product removes without damage, because we have not measured them.
Prices, availability and terms
We avoid quoting exact prices, shipping coverage or return terms because they change. Where a brand-specific fact is used, it is labelled with its source and the date it was checked. The advertiser's own page is always the authority.
Update dates
Each article shows its publication date and, when changed in a meaningful way, an updated date. Minor typo fixes do not change the date.
Corrections
If you find an error, tell us through the contact page. We verify the claim, correct confirmed mistakes and update the article date. We do not remove disclosures in response to a correction request.
AI-assisted drafting with human review
We use AI tools to help outline and draft. A person reviews each article for accuracy, unsupported claims and tone before it is published. AI is never used to invent testing, quotes, reviews or credentials, and any illustration is labelled as illustration.
Affiliate relationships
A commercial relationship does not guarantee that a brand is included or covered positively. We choose topics by reader need, not by commission rate. See the affiliate disclosure.
What we avoid
- Legal, medical or financial advice. Lease questions belong with your landlord or a professional.
- Promises that any product will leave a wall undamaged.
- Naming a single best product without stating the criteria.
